This page showcases a brief collection of reporter video work I completed while enrolled at Virginia Tech. Included are 4 stories; a basic package, 2 advanced packages, and a social media explainer package. Some, but not all of these videos may reappear in my personal Reporter Reel.
The basic package is a simple, roughly 1 minute long story that shows that I know how to use advanced video equipment, conduct interviews, and edit with professionalism. Most commonly utilizing a Voiceover / Sound on Tape / Voiceover format, the example shown here is slightly different, and runs for slightly longer than normal. It is the first video on this page and is about a bowling tournament.
The advanced package is a larger, roughly 90 second story that builds upon the abilities listed above, but with an additional interview and a standup bridge to camera. These are the second and third videos on this page and they are about a clarinet recital and a new building respectively.
The explainer package is a short, 1 minute story that is an example of how to take my video reporting skills and how I am able to condense them down to a video best suited for social media. It is the third video on this page and is about the GRAMMY Awards.
.
I want to use this space to explain that because of the specific editing requirements required by a professor at the time, and editing of broadcasts that occurred after they were aired but before they were archived (without my notice), much of my video work from my time at The News Feed NRV / Digital Newsroom is lost. I apologize for the inconvenience,
