The below video is a recording of a live broadcast I helped to produce, anchor and create as part of a Digital Newsroom class I had at Virginia Tech. It is not without faults, both on the production end and on the anchoring end because of the severely limited schedule we had to prepare this entire thing from scratch. Which only helps to showcase the quality of our production. The specific topic is on the different facets of engaging with music for those in the New River Valley area of western Virginia. It features interviews with two members of the band Spilt Milkshakes, and then co-general manager of WUVT (and good personal friend of mine) Grace Dalton. There are also packages on related topics created by the wonderful team I had for this project.
Huge thanks to my classmates and friends, Genevieve Tran, Alice Buckley, Javeria Zulfqar, Dakota Richmond, and Autumn Telles. And to the guests Levi Keilholtz, George Salcedo, and Grace Dalton. Plus professor Syrenthia Robinson.
Fun Fact: I had severe bronchitis while anchoring this show, and couldn't talk for 2 days afterward.
