From September of 2023 to May of 2024, I worked with Virginia Tech Publishing, Professor and Author
Dr. Jason A. Higgins, and Newman Libraries as a Digital Humanities Researcher. I spent my time there working on two projects documenting the oral histories of marginalized groups. I created clips and interactive websites, wrote articles, and developed both hard technical skills and soft teamwork skills during my time there.

Alongside Dr. Higgins and Jessica Taylor, my teammate Lila Bartolomeo and I created Migrant Workers of the Virginia Tidewater, an interactive website that documents the lives of immigrants working in Virginia's seafood industry and the struggles they go through. Utilizing interviews conducted with a wide range of people active in the region that were provided by the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida, we created a full scope project that is both informative, and a great showcase of my skills when i'm not in front of a camera or microphone.
The second project I worked on was Crossing the Military-Civilian Divide, a website that explains, in the words of U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, the many struggles that they have gone through and that they currently endure. Interviews range from Vietnam War Veterans to people still currently active in the military. I was brought on to fill some needed gaps by creating clips, while also setting the groundwork for when the final design and layout of the project is finalized.
(You can view the current version of Crossing the Military-Civilian Divide below, but be aware that I only worked on this project in pieces, and that it is still a work in progress as of November 2024)
