There are three main sections in this part of the gallery, divided into written work I did while studying at Virginia Tech and written work since graduation.
VIRGINIA TECH WRITING PORTFOLIO
In the section labeled "WRITING PORTFOLIO", there are excerpts from a self-run beat blog I maintained with older think-pieces about music industry trends, and full articles ranging from technology usage among Gen Z, to ramifications of wage increases for dining service workers, event coverage, and more.
These articles showcase my ability to write informational and newsworthy content in Associated Press (AP) Style, and my skill level in writing for news organizations. As well as my ability to adapt my writing for different audiences, and styles.
PLAY PAUSE REPEAT SHUFFLE: A MUSIC BLOG
Following my graduation, I have started a Wordpress Blog as a way to continue writing and discussing music in a journalistic fashion while disconnected from the Virginia Tech system. Play Pause Repeat Shuffle (PPRS), named after the function buttons on a music player, is a place for me to write reviews and engage in discourse surrounding popular music.
The work on PPRS demonstrates my ability to write and create editorial content and analyze subjects in depth, be it literary or journalism analysis. It also illustrates my ability to write in an informal and approachable style that is still engaging to a viewer. It is here you can also view selections I have written for The Woove, a Virginia based music magazine.
While currently a place for music reviews, as I continue building PPRS, I will be expanding into articles, thinkpieces, interviews, and lighthearted video content
.
This section, more than any other on this site is most frequent to change.
As I write more and publish more, I want this to reflect the quality of my work at the moment, and so things may get removed and replaced to uphold that. If there is anything that was once here that has been taken down, you can email me and I will send you a copy if I can.
Please do not steal, plagiarize or publish these works. Any questions or inquiries regarding them should directed to my email.
